Performance is also excellent if you want to ride with the maximum assist. We exceeded 50 km of autonomy during our tests, which is a good goal.

Removable, this battery can be recharged entirely independently of the bike. To remove it, use the key that is in the packaging. However, the 84W charger provides slower charges. Indeed, it will take about 6-7 hours to go from 0% to 100%.

Smooth driving experience

Eleglide Citycrosser: its limits

Although its design looks more like a trekking bike than a regular city bike, it is not a perfect all-mountain bike. It is characterized by stiff forks and factory tires that could be more suitable for off-roading.

With the Citycrosser, Eleglide learned from its mistakes by adding a front basket and mudguards. However, the bike is not sold with a lock, which is mandatory today. On the other hand, the bell and the rear light are provided, and you must remember to mount them on the bike. Finally, note that the front basket is challenged because it has no border or attachment system. We are far from the practical and optimized basket of the brand’s other models.

This electric bike is also criticized for the lack of suspension and the rigidity of the saddle, which risks making you suffer when travelling. For this purpose, an additional saddle pad must be purchased or the harness replaced directly.

Verdict

After this test, could the Eleglide City Crosser be a wise investment? The Eleglide Citycrosser bike enjoys excellent value for money. It has proven itself in terms of performance and driving.

The manufacturer has done an excellent job of fusing touring geometry with a reasonably reliable, nimble city bike. The City Crosser represents a perfect option to consider if you are commuting to work or want to tackle weekend getaways to look for an enjoyable ride.

However, we regret that Eleglide could not learn from its past mistakes. In particular, a tedious assembly requires multiple checks to ensure that the handlebars will not turn by themselves during the journey because a bolt is loosely tightened. For 1000 euros, it is the ideal model for anyone who needs a robust and reliable bike to ride on asphalt roads.
